In Homs, the people rose up against the regime and the regime responded by killing people. So we escaped around 4:30 A.M. so that there would be no one around. We walked to the next village, which was three hours away and then on to another village four hours away. From there we went in cars to the border and then on to the camp.
Now we live in this neighborhood with several other Syrian families, all from my village. I was the first to come, and a week after another family from my village came to the Zaatari camp. I communicated with him and brought him here to this neighborhood. I found an empty house and set him up there. It was the same for the two families that came after them. We got a house for them close by, because they didn’t know any one.
